Kakels, be sure you get the Derwent Inktense and not Watercolor pencils. When you brush, only use a little gel and work it in. You should not see small globs glistening on the surface. Use short "scrubbing" strokes to push the color into the fiber. Enjoy! Please post your results.

You have created a real work of art!! I'm still 'planning' a project with inktense pencils I just had to buy last year! LOL

You can also dampen your fabric by placing it in water, wring out, and then roll up in a towel. Then draw on the damp fabric with the pencil and immediately work into the fabric with a small, round tip, short, stiff brush in a scrubbing motion. It really doesn't bleed this way. You can iron it dry between pressing cloths and then work on it again. You might want to add another color or shading on top of a color. If you start with a lighter color, you can work toward darker or bolder color.

jane I'm wondering if you are still using the derwent inktense pencils and have changed any of your previous techniques. I also have done much research on the technique and have purchased the inktense pencils but not used them yet. I was going to try some of the water brushes. any thoughts. tx
