When my children were small (MANY years ago) I bought a bunch of corduroy remnants that were big enough to make pants for them. I didn't get all of it sewn up before they grew through that size. So I passed them on to my friend whose children were somewhat younger, thinking she could make pants for her kids. Instead she enlarged a King's Crown pattern and used those remnants to make it. It was beautiful and I was jealous. She used it for years on her bed and eventually it became the picnic quilt. Heavy and warm and years of use.

I used it in a rag quilt I made a few years ago. Just a few squares. I liked having a different texture.

I use corduroy in lots of sewing projects when I can find it. This year I used it for the bottoms of Bow Tucks bags and it gave the bag an amazing amount of body so that the bag stood up easier.

I would like to have the name or instructions for the pattern using circles and folding them into squares. I watched a lady making them one time but never saw them set together.

I have used a very fine wale as backing for a toddler quilt.

Yes I have and I would recommend using a wider seam allowance. I used a 1/2. Keep it simple.

I actually made a queen size quilt in ribless corduroy. By careful placement of the design (all squares and rectangles) it looked like several shades were used. It is very heavy so I would advise little or no batting.

Have you ever used flannel to make large quilts not baby quilts? Wondered if they will hold up over time.
