OH, and what you did was figure square inches and then you forgot that a 12" block is 144 square inches. 4260 square inches divided by 144 square inches is 29.533333333333333333333333333333333 OR shall we say----30 blocks.

I piece my backs allso, but start my calculations with a 10 1/2" sq., cause it seemed a lot easier to figure out how many sqs. I would need. Learned that from the Bonnie Hunter site.

Her problem wasn't the seams, it was the fact she didn't divide by 144 SQUARE INCHES

Miss Laziness here, I use designs that make the best use of 42" fabric. I hate to have leftovers. Love 10 1/2" squares
