I think it is funny that people say that! I think "well someone has to do that for the clothes you wear!" Of course it is not little pieces but still....

I'm working on a crazy crumb quilt! Oh, and last year for my little brother's birthday I made him a crazy quilt, too.

My squares on the burgandy and gold quilt are 11X11, as a matter of fact, I used Bounty paper towel sheets as my foundation, works beautifully, and you don't take them out. with foundation sheets, you can plan on it being a heavier quilt, especially with all the top stitching dover all the seams of each block. I'm not sure how many blocks there are, but it works on my king-size bed with about 5 inches of overhang, so it's pretty big. It's shown in the picture I posted over a queen size bed. I did it over a period of time, it's a true crazy quilt, I didn't plan the patterns in the squares (probably no 2 exactly alike) or the colors... I wanted it red/burgandy, and I use a lot of fabric with burgandy in it, so every time I had scraps left over, I'd make a few more squares; pretty soon, I had it all done. There just happened to be a scrap I used a lot that had some gold/yellow in the background, so that's how I picked the contrast color; I wasn't pleased with the outcome at first, but it growing on me...

    Your quilt is beautiful.

Won't the paper towels bunch up when the quilt is washed?

Nope, I have some friends who have each had several made with Bounty, they have all washed them several times, on purpose to test it out, and they are as smooth as can be, it may depend on the quilting, I'm not sure, but their's are all fine. It has to be Bounty though, they have not tested the less popular brands so they may not hold up...so far so good.

I belong to an internet forum. One night I had a dream that I went to my mailbox and there were packages from all over the US and other countries. My sis posted my dream on the forum and soon I was getting all of those packages. I made a crazy quilt and it represents all the members of the forum. I will post a picture in the picture section. I couldn't believe some of the things people sent. I even got two Disney bandanas, one of Mickey and one of Minnie. I put those in the borders.

I have several crazy quilt blocks made. They need to go to my girlfriend next for the embroidery and then she'll send them back to me for the assembly. Mine are all made with satin, silk, and velvets.
