Date on your label
#21
I am like Dunster, ashamedly, I have fallen behind also with labeling also. But, I think the label should be dated when the quilt was made rather than when it is gifted. I don't think you need more than the year, but I always include the month myself. I think it is a matter of choice.

I make quilts for the person in mind so if its for a newborn baby, I add their date of birth on the label. If its for a person and/or family I add the month/year they will receive it. All my labels are made with my embroidery machine and I keep the embroidery design for future reference in case I need to go back to it for whatever reason.

Like Dunster, I've fallen behind labeling my quilts too. Looking at it from a recipient's view, I think they would would appreciate the gift even more if thinking it was MADE especially for them, not something pulled out of a cupboard at the last minute. I do keep things in the cupboard for last minute gifts, and I pull the one that I think is appropriate to the recipient, so I want them to know some thought went into the giving. I think I'll keep labeling mine with the date gifted.
