Didn't see this thread until now....because I was sewing all day (except for lunch and a nap!).

I sewed enough to make 260 half square triangles for 2 quilts that must be done in 4 weeks!

Guess my computer time will be very limited for a while!

Yep! I'm working on a cathedral window quilt for my daughter..... 25th anniversary. I didn't realize how time intensive these are but it is coming out very nice so I guess I'm not that sorry that I started it. I'll be working on it for a few weekends.......just keep stitching, just keep stitching.......

No! I have lost all motivation and cannot make myself sit down at the sewing machine. I keep telling myself I want to quilt, but keep avoiding it.

I finished the binding on a little baby "wholecloth" quilt. It will go to charity. Turned out cute and it was fast. That is all I got done in two weeks. Summertime is so busy.

Second string quilt pieced and ready for applique. First string quilt appliqued and border on ready to quilt. Successful weekend.

I did! I cut it out and sewed it this weekend..it was rainy here so it was a great time to sew! The pattern came from a BH&G quilting magazine (FEB2013 I think)..it is called "Butter Churn". I really love how it came out...now just have to get it quilted!

Quote: This is the first weekend in about 4-6 weeks that I've had the chance to sew without either babysitting or having company...and yesterday I hurt my back. I managed to finish piecing a top and have the back cut, but not sure if I will be able to piece it. I can't sit too long or it's very painful when I do move. I have a very small area to sew in the bedroom, but no dedicated space to quilt. When I quilt, I have to rearrange things on the porch. I'm just not up to that and handling the weight of any quilts. Good thing none have a deadline! I'm disappointed because quilting is my mental escape from a stressful job...and it's been very stressful lately, so I need lots of "therapy" LOL.

Here's a picture of the top I finished.

Love your quilt. I started a D9P and was not liking how it looks then saw yours with the striping. I love it. Going to try that. Mine is scrappy. Working down the bag of six inch squares I brought home a year ago. This is about the sixth quilt from the bag and I have several left--of course adding stripping and binding from my stash.

I'm working on a challenge our Guild President gave us, due in Sept. If we are a traditional quilter we were to paint, dye, stencil, use PaintStiks or do some contemporary thing on a quilt of any size up to twin. If we are a contemporary quilter we had to do something traditional. Well, I'm of the second group, so decided to do some hand applique. So this weekend I machine stitched around all my appliqued shapes. Next is fmq the background.
