i like the first one offten i dont like how a quilt looks untill all the borders are on and then i love it. but if you cant stand it just put it away for a few months and come back to it latter you will probly have a totaly different perspective on it then.

I really like it with the red. The pale yellow seems to be too timid and it allows the dark squares to overpower. Adding a strong color in the setting triangles creates more balance. Nice job. The trick is to stick with it. (Take a short break but then FINISH the project.)

I really like the first layout. I would sew it together and find a varigated hot pink/green thread to FMQ in the light areas. It will be wonderful! The quilting will really bring the negative space to life. I think the dark fabric takes away from the overall design (all I notice is the dark triangles)JMHO

I love the first pic - I think it is great. I too have several UFO's and I am a super newbie and just chalk it up to not knowing better and just trying something new.

I love your quilt, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I think we've all been there. Right now, I'm terribly unhappy with a bow-tuck purse that I plan to give as a boss' day gift next month. The pocket is a bit off center and it's driving me crazy and I have at least $30 invested in it. I bought a pewter schnauzer button to go on it. I'm really torn. I'm probably going to make a new one. My neighbors have a little girl who's about six years old and I know she would love to have a "grown up" purse with doggie feet all over it.

Ok, typing this out, I've made up my mind. A new one I will make this weekend. I feel much better now.

Can you also post pictures with the border fabric? That way us super visual folks can see which we like best. Right now I like both.

I definitely like the lighter better. I agree with the suggestion to put it away for a while. You will come back to it with different eyes.
