I just bought my first kit. When I got in home to Texas (from South Dakota), I was disappointed. The quilt pattern shows 3 different fabrics. The kit had only 2. There is enough Main fabric to make the kit, but I really liked the two different main fabrics on the picture. I will make do however.

I tend to buy table runners and other small things in kits, it helps me understand the project then I have the pattern to make more items.

I've never purchased a kit. I admire them but enjoy the fabric selection process too much to not do it myself.

Yes, I buy quilt kits. I like having the fabric already picked out. I have a hard time sometimes getting the colors to go together.

Generally no due to price and the fact that I like to pick my own fabric. I have seen a few I would consider, but only a very few.

Kits! As the owner of a small quilt shop that specializes in kits, I have often wondered how quilters felt about the pricing etc. I would love to know the answer to this question...Would you rather buy a kit with just the amount of fabric needed (which of course keeps the price down) or would you rather pay a bit more (perhaps 10%)to have a pad for mistakes or a bonus for your stash? Any one have an opinion?

I like to pick my own colors. Most of the time I don't have the money to buy kits. I scrap quilt.

I buy them because I am matching fabric challanged. It fustrates me to try and find materials that go together.

I purchase kits if I see something I really like. There are so many beautiful ones. I love to look at the ones from Keepsake Quilting and Hancock's of Paducah. That being said I make some of my own design and colors also.
