I buy mine in the grocery store. I have not used or have not seen by oxiclean but I really do like the ones from Shout. I too use them in my laundry when I have something that I think might fade. They are great.

I think there was a thread not too long ago that said a report by Consumer Reports found them ineffective. That said, an awful lot of folks swear by them!

Thanks! I'd never looked for them before.

I've only used the Shout brand but I've been very pleased with them.

I wonder if putting in a plain white facecloth in the wash would give you the same effect???
Thanks to everyone who has given me their opinion.
Much appreciate it. I will look for a new box at the grocery store.

And, I have used the same one 2 or 3 times and it still works! Love them.

I use the shout ones. I put them in my clothes laundry sometimes, especially if I'm washing something new or bright, and there is always dye on it when I take it out of the washer or dryer. I think they work.

Does anyone know what is in them that makes them effective, and whether it would be possible to concoct your own?
