Keeping the boxes for a short period is a good idea. After the 'short period', I am told by exterminators that they should be discarded because little critters like to eat the glue from the boxes.

I keep them for a bit, but then out they go. Do not like clutter (as I sit in my sewing room where it looks like a fabric bomb has been detonated)

I moved twice last year and was glad the box was saved with the foam packing. You can always use it as a place for something else on a temporary basis. Never can depend on how others may handle the machine and I could not do it myself.

I recycle my boxes after they are of no more use. I have taken them apart and reversed the lettering to the inside to use them as mailing boxes too. It works great!

I do have a couple boxes in the rafters of the garage that need to be tossed. That is to me the best place to store them.

I do the same thing. Keep the box until the return date has expired and sometimes as much as six months.

I keep the boxes for my machines. When we moved I put the machines in the boxes and protected them while transporting them in the car. That was a 175 mile move--across town I wouldn't have bothered.

When I bought my long arm the box had a message on it to keep the box in case of needing repairs. I have a large walk in attic so no problem. DH stored some tools for putting machine together in the boxes.

I keep the box, plastic, ... and as was highly recommended by the local dealer My machine had to be shipped back with all parts, etc; the box was so useful.

All my sewing machine has carry cases. However I do keep the cardboard box. It's a good size to use when I sorting fabric to use for a project. I have a basket, but is full of odd bits of batting. Currently sorting scraps and strips to use in a braided rug runner.

I have kept the boxes because we tend to move alot. However, they are always taking up space and periodically I consider getting rid of them. Haven't yet, maybe tomorrow.
