I thought I was the only silly one to name the quilts, esp when they have named patterns,,,, :-D
But yes I name mine, I did a 9 block quilt, with the steelers champion years, and I named it " Champions", and I did a king size yo-yo quilt about 3 years ago, and named it yo-yo around the world, ( as the fabric was from all over the world,,lol) and now, I am working on a hex. quilt, like the grandmother garden,, but my mother is called Nana by all the grandchildren,, so I am naming is " Nana's GardenBabies".... :-D

What kind fo names do you use????

With all the hours a quilt takes to make, I think they deserve having a name. I generally make wall quilts, so yes, they all are given a name or title. Some of mine are "Three Tulips", "Stars Among Bees", "Rings and Stars", "Pansies", "Finale", "Northern Minnesota Landscape", "Ooooh An Eight Break Snail Shell". Many of my quilts have been made for quilt challenges for a fireworks organization I belong to, so they have very different names.

I'm going to start naming my quilts! Sounds like so much fun, especially when they develop their own personality as you sew. And yes, I named my car "The Tangerine Machine" because it is an orange Caliber!

Yes I title my quilts. Some are more imaginative than others. Like many, I simply call it by the pattern name but sometimes a fabric used in the quilt will be encorporated into the title of the quilt. I have made two full size bed quilts with cat fabrics in them. One was a tumbling blocks pattern so it was titled "Tumbling Tabbies". The other the pattern name was called Stardancer but my focus fabric, the fabric I basically built the quilt around, had cats so I call it "Kitties Dancing with the Stars". My current WIP is based on my brothers tattoos, so it is aptly named "Dan's Tats". Our quilts are works of art in their own right. I think they all deserve to be titled or named and that info should be put on the label.
