You will enjoy your tote/purse so much...each is unique and fun as you have noticed from the ones posted.

Hoping to pick up a suggestion or two on the closures used.
Have you considered a magnetic closer? I just bought 10 for $5.99. I'm going to mount one to a flap that folds over the top opening of the purse rather than putting both magnets inside the top edges ... does that make sense?

Has anyone made the handles longer then what the design asks for?
Absolutely

I have made a couple, the last one for a friend. She had mentioned at a previous time she would never carry a purse without a zipper, so of course hers has a zipper.
It is so fun to make bags, since I must carry a bag for my oxygen I no longer carry a purse. Still I make them because it is such fun and I have lots of friends that appreciate a new purse.
Everyone bow tuck bag I have made and given away they just love all the pockets and go on and on about them.
