I am thankful that everyone knew what I was asking. A kind board member brought it to my attention that I didn't "proof" my question. I've asked the Admin to correct it for me. Thanks to all for your answers. You truly are all helpful.

I do wash baby quilts, but not others. Hope that helps!

As far as new clothes, I always wash them as well so that they immediately shrink into what their permanent size will be and if it's a fabric meant to be wrinkly, then I won't have worn it one time nice and crisp and then all wrinkly. Weird, I know!

And welcome to the board Gramma! :)

Same here! If not, the quilt would resemble one of those furry blankets!

I didn't used to wash because I like the crisp "unwrinkled" look. I do wash now because I don't want whoever I give the quilt to think they did something wrong when they wash it and it comes out all wrinkled.

I always run mine thru a "cold, gentle" rinse to make sure the
colors are set in. I would hate for someone to love a new quilt then wash it and have it ruined!

I always wash mine. I have cats so they need a good washing.

I always wash. If something is going to happen, I want to know about it before giving it.
