I have a dollar store hammer that I covered with felt. Works just fine for me.

Isn't Susan a hoot! She spoke at our guild last year as well as doing a workshop. She is so much fun and a wonderful teacher too.

Is it possible, that the white material was all one piece, and the rest just hand-appliqued on? Time consuming, but possible... Diana O.

I saw her Sat and then took her class Tues. loved her. I have used a hammer, I think the wacker is better for fabric.

You could probably get the same results with a rubber mallet, from the local Walmart or Menards for about $5.

I have one. Those intersecting seams can really get in the way when you're trying to quilt.
