Also, I saw one advertised on QuiltersFleaMarket for $3,000, never been out of the box.

I'm renting one from my LQS for $15 per hour. I want to try for a long time before I invest that much.
I think there are two sets of people on this thread, some with the regular set up of HQ16 with the frame, and others referring to the HQ Sweet 16 which is basically the same machine, but set in a table so that it is level with the surface, but end on to the sewer. It's this last one that I have. (see pics above)

Yes, I believe they are basically the same machine, one has the frame set up, and one a sit down machine. The one that I have, yes is on a frame and carriage as the one you are referring to sets into a table. My point is that for the amount of money the ad was asking for, (basically the same I spent for my complete setup). But thank you for mentioning that while they may appear to be the same machine, the "set-up" is very different.

Just got my Sweet 16 today. I've only played with practice squares but I LOVE it already. Don't have room for a LA and the Sweet 16 fits my space and my needs beautifully. Can't wait to do a real quilt on it! Got a good price on it too.

Very timely postings. I'm just beginning research on the HQ Sweet 16. This is great feedback. I'll keep checking back.

Cool

Hi Everyone,

I just joined after finding your site when searching for info on HQ Sweet 16. I noticed this thread is over a year old and was wondering if anyone had any other comments you could add now that you’ve all had more time to use your machine. Do you find it’s worth the money? Do you love it and don’t know how you quilted without it? Do you know where it can be found at the best price? And… Now that it’s been out for so long – do you think they’ll be rolling out a new model soon?

Thanks for any suggestions you can offer.

Jen~

LOVE mine - just got it 2 weeks ago and loving it - missing it at the moment as I have had to baste a quilt top together so I can quilt it - now I'm ready to start another quilt top! I am seeing that there is now a couching foot available for this machine - what fun!
