Don't think I will buy one. Like my many machibes, piece and quilt by hand. Unless doing chain peicing.

What is the name of your quilt shop? I have been wanting a longarm for a long time. Thanks. Happy Stitchin.

I don't have a longarm. And I don't have any ambition to ever own one. I like to piece quilt tops, and machine embroidery
quilt blocks for crib/lap quilts. Once I finish a quilt top I'm ready to move on to the next one. I have a great longarm quilter I take my quilts to, she does a wonderful job and I'm always satisfied with her work.

Have you tried using a credit card to cover your feed dogs and use a free motion open-toed foot? I quilt on a 50 year-old Singer and sometimes cover the feed dogs as above.

I've made about 30 quilts and had them all quilted by a professional. I just got a new Janome 6600 and am starting to practice so I can do my own. I'm inspired by the work I see on this board.

I don't know this message board well enough to know if it is I or not that you were asking this question of. But I will answer. The name of the shop where I rent time on the long arm is Quilt Yourself.

No long arm machine here.. I'm not sure I want one.. I know that sounds weird to a bunch of quilters, but I don't think I want yet another thing to take care of. I think I'd rather piece than quilt all the time, which I'd have to do if I bought one!

I have a beautiful Creative Vision 5.5 machine, and it's a dream to work with. I do most of my quilts on it, but have sent out very important quilts to a LAQ..

Longarm - an Innova 18" on 12' frame. Got it after I quilted 4 placemats on my DSM! Best investment I ever made! I quilt both for myself and as a business.
