I would put and uneven number of strips along the top, but fewer than the number of strips across the bottom. That would set off the design but still give you a modern look. Love your quilt. You've done a great job!

I think I will put 3 on top and more at the bottom then put the black around it then.

I liked the quilt as it was except that last row does seem to be misaligned. Checkerboard top and bottom will look good too.

Thank you so much for pointing that out I have working really hard on this quilt and very late at night so for that to happen is understatement. I think I will put 3 on top or 4 and same on bottom.

Love the quilt but I also agree with sprice, quilt will be more balanced/ centered. You then could add the green, black or blue borders or all three in different dimensions.

It's a beautiful quilt, however, I think I would take 3 rows of the checkerboard and put it on the top of the quilt. It's your choice of course, but I prefer a more balanced look, but I like the way you added length to the quilt, I would just balance it a little more.

Yes the bottom row needs to be shifted one block over either to the right or left. Then add a small border of green and a small border of blue and then add your black border. I am comfortable with the checker board just on the bottom. It's fine to me. Is this just going to be a throw or do you need a pillow tuck at the top? If you need a pillow tuck at the top then I might rethink the layout. I think it is a great quilt. Sort of unexpected!

Can you put the year of her graduation in the square
Or her picture and year or appliqué, just looks like it
Needs something, I love the bottom and the colors!

I, too, would put the checkerboard effect all around. Two rows at the sides would suffice, maybe three, if that won't make the quilt way too large!
