Is there an "EASY" way to do sashing?
I,m having the worst time trying to line up my blocks with sashing.
In the past few days, the seam ripper is part of my clothing.
I think they are lined up and yet when I sew, they are off. At the
rate I,m going I,m going to have to order a gross of seam rippers.
I would appreciate all the help I can get.
Thanks in advance.

When you think you have them lined up you can either hand or machine baste a few stitches jsut before and after the sashings on the seam line. Then check to see if they match. If they do then sew the whole seam.
You can also glue the sashings when they meet with Elmer's School Glue.
Any of these ways, you are not ripping out whole seams and when you go to sew, the matches will stay put as you sew over them.

Are you using corner stones? I find this the easiest way to get everything to line up.
Another way is to put the sashing on the top and right side of each block, then join these larger blocks, and then add sashing to the edges, like a border.

Here's how I do sashing. I sew the short sashing strips to join blocks together for the first and second rows. Sew a long sashing strip on below the first row. BEFORE sewing on the second row, turn that first row over. Using a ruler and pencil, extend the seam lines across the long sashing strip. This creates "virtual" seam lines in the long sashing strip. Before sewing on the second row, pin each seam of the second row to the matching virtual seam marked in the long sashing strip. When you sew, ease or stretch as necessary to keep those pins lined up.
Blocks are aligned every time with this method, and it is easy to do.

I do like Prism99 except instead of pins for markers, I just put a little mark with a pencil on the long sash where it is supposed to line up w/block....it is marked on the seam allowance and on the wrong side of the fabric so no one but you will know it was ever there.......I do pin from one mark to the other in case of some easing that might have to be done......remember you are sewing a pieced block to a solid piece of fabric so the stretch in pieced piece might be more and thus have to be eased into the solid strip.........just take your time....

First, double check your block and sash measurements to make sure something isn't off. You might not notice a 1/8" difference by eye but by the time you get to the end of the row you're gonna be MAD!
Second, don't forget to "nest" your seams, even though there is sashing between the blocks. Usually you'd nest where the blocks meet each other, but in this case you're going to nest the whole seam, except for the width of the sashing. (I find this to be more accurate anyway.)
Finally, pin like it's going out of style! Don't rely on a pin at each corner; make sure you are pinning every couple of inches to give yourself a chance to make a correction or ease in a little extra fullness.
