    Default Double Slice Quilt ?

For those who have made the Double slice quilt by MSQC, what size quilt is made with 1 layer cake. When I watched the tutorial, I didn't' hear a size. Thanks

    One layer cake will give you 42 9 " blocks. In a 6 x7 layout, quilt is 54 x 63 before borders.

If your layer cake contains 42 10" squares you would have enough for a 6 X 7 layout. You need to remember seam allowances. ( 6 X 9 does = 54, but sewn together you have 3" of seam allowances, so, have 51" across. Down you have 3 1/2" of seam allowances so, 59 1/2" down. )

I don't think she always gives a quilt size on her videos. She probably prefer you to buy her Block magazine. That is when EQ comes in handy, you can make any size of quilt you need just drawing the one block.

    blocks are 9" finished, 9 1/2" unfinished.
3.5" sewed to 6.5" equals 9.5"; then sliced on the long side, still 10" in half
    5" sewed to 5" equals 9.5"
    9.5" on both sides now

    hope this helps,

A link to the video here would help.

I think she does say what size the quilt behind her is, or she tells how many layer cakes you need to make it. If I remember correctly she says two layer cakes to make a queen size. I have watched the tutorial several times, not recently though. I could be wrong.
I use that pattern alot to make a good size cover for one person.

I have made it but not with a layer cake- use what material I have for a scrappy look and start with 12 or 14 inch blocks for larger blocks. Great for large print material.
