It's amazing how many well known quilt designers use EQ to design the projects they sell!

I am thrilled to finally be able to create some quilts in EQ7. What really jump-started me (after 5 years of getting mostly nowhere) was a free video tutorial series by Kari Schell called "Catch the Waves":

She also has a blog with short video tutorials in her archives: https://www.onpointquilter.com/ . I found her Irish Chain quilt helpful: https://www.onpointquilter.com/blog/double-irish-chain
Oh huge thank-you for starting this thread & for sharing the links as I have always wanted to dive into this program to see if I could learn it. I am awful at math & most patterns confuse me I know sad for a quilter lol

I know...I figure if they can do it so can I... Probably shouldn’t admit this but some patterns are easily recreated on EQ8 for personal use so saving on pattern purchases is a plus.

I have had EQ 6, 7, and now 8....Learning curve to each one, but oh what a program! I often redraw patterns so that I am more clear about how they will look.

One thing I can't figure out and can't find an answer for in the help files or the EQ block is how to make a shaped border.

I need to cut the corners off of my larger quilts so that they're not on the floor. I can't figure out how to draw that. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Elizabeth, I can only suggest printing out your quilt on paper, and use a ruler to draw where you want to cut the corners off. Then you may be able to draw up those end blocks in EQ and print out foundation patterns to suit.
This is a bit late, you may already have found the solution.

Can anyone tell me how to re-install my designs back into EQ7? I've updated to windows 10 (and dislike it very much). I can open one at a time, but that only saves them in the top window, and I need them to be visable in the bottom window.

Gay - In EQ 8, I dragged my older folder into Documents and made sure the path was correct. I needed a folder My EQ8 and another one Projects inside.

My EQ 7 folder (which I still have) has the projects in a folder PJ7. If you reinstalled the program, look for the PJ7 folder in Documents / My EQ 7 (or some other wording like that) and drag your designs into it (I think that should work)..

On the open screen, at least EQ 8 shows where it is looking

I recently purchased EQ8 and have only made it through lesson 1. I think I have a handle on that lesson but not lesson 2. I will be watching this thread closely. Thanks for the links. no to save this thread.
