I have been using this thread for quite a while (and some Coats) and I thought it was very linty in my Husq +1. Never noticed blobs. I have used premium threads very little so I had no comparison. I will probably continue to use it and just clean the machine very often. A professional cleaning requires shipping to Anchorage - not really a option very often. I wish someone here would learn how to work on sewing machines.

I use the neutral colors for piecing and colors for quilting. I have tons of it and both me and my machine love it. Yes, it is a bit linty but that's easy to clean. None of my quilts are masterpieces so that thread works like a charm.

I have been very happy with Essential cotton thread. It is a little linty, but no more so than many others I've used. I also love the colors! I just ordered a whole bunch when it was on sale a couple of weeks ago. Can't beat the price.

I love Essential. It is affordable and comes in so many colors. I use it for piecing and for quilting charity quilts. Most of my art quilts I use Isacord polyester- but on bed quilts, I do like Essential.

It is linty, but not much more than other threads, I clean my machine regularly.

It is one of my favorite threads.

I like it, but as said before....very linty. I can afford to use it in charity quilts and I know it is strong enough to hold up to use.
My Juki likes it, but the Bernina says no.

I only use this thread for piecing and quilting too {also general sewing, and my Pfaff 4.0 seems to love it. I have had no problems whatsoever but try it for yourself and see what YOU think.

What Bernina do you have? I have a 430 and it has sewn beautifully with every thread I've thrown at it, including essential (and metallic, and dual duty, and clear, and all kinds of other stuff) despite the ladies at the dealership implying epic doom if I use anything other than Mettler, Isacord, or Aurifil, which conveniently they sell.

My Bernina hates ET. It sounded like a machine gun when I tried to run it with this thread, and I bought A LOT because of all the colors. I switched to aurifil and genziana; which is a shame because they are so expensive and I can't ever seem to find them in the colors that I want.

I love ET thread. As others have said, it's a bit linty but I clean out my bobbin area often. All my machines love it, from my featherweight to my Pfaff to my newest, a Babylock Crescendo. Works great for FMQ ,too. As a matter of fact, my LQS sells ET in their shop--at a 300% mark-up compared to the CT catalogue. I order online from CT and get enough for the free shipping.
