Bella Bella Quilts by Norah McMeeking are just awesome and are still available.

A lot of the paper pieced patterns look like the Mosaics, especially Jacqueline de Jonge's and some of Judy Niemeyers.

It will be fun to see what you decide to make.
norah McMeeking teaches a Craftsy class, "Precision Peicing". I've also seen her books and foundation piecing papers at JoAnns. Her quilts are on my to do list.

I would check out Jenny Byers web site, several of the quilts she makes look just like beautiful tile floors. It's not so much the pattern but the fabric she uses. I think you will find something there!!

Also check out the quilt style made by the Egyptian Tent Makers. here's a page of several of their quilts for sale with AQS. https://shop.americanquilter.com/mer...-for-sale.html Perhaps this is what she is looking for?

There is a video you can find on youtube.com (use Egyptian tent maker quilt as a search string) and they show you the process they use to make their quilts. Start with a small piece to get the technique down.

Or ... buy one of the quilts for her for Christmas

Frank Lloyd Wright books are out also. I want to make the one that has a stained glass effect. My to-do list is getting too long. Good luck with your project.

CHeck out this pattern by Anaka's Treasures http://ankastreasures.wordpress.com/...oroccan-tiles/ the version she did with the dark background is stunning, and the curves are applique and not pieced so that would make it tons easier as well !

Here is one that could work for you. It's just a variation on the 10-minute block. I plan to use this to make a Christmas runner with a snowflake in the center of each block. Found a great Bali Batik snowflake material. Here is the link to it.

i took pictures of the tiles in Spain and Portugal because i liked the idea of making them into quilt patterns. Someone beat me to it and there is a book based on the tiles out there. Not sure of the name but i'm sure you can find it using "tile quilts" as the keywords..

http://www.marinandcolusa.com/spanis...quilt-pattern/ This is the one that says "Turkey" to me. But I think a lot of it has to do with the pattern of the fabric. I have the pictures of the tiles, but it has been more than 10 years since we were there, and I haven't even tried anything yet. My husband is a Math PhD, and really loved the geometric designs we saw there.

Good luck on your Turkish Quilt and show us what you have done when it gets done.

When I read the word architectural, I was reminded of a quilt I saw years ago that was just basically a two color Bargello except that the lower color was black with white prints, (think a graph showing up and down trends) the upper color was a soft blue, it had a good size round yellow sun in one corner, and through the middle of the quilt was a tracing of a heart beat in red bias appique. The name of the quilt was "heartbeat of the city" It was so unusual and beautiful.
