I would check out Jenny Byers web site, several of the quilts she makes look just like beautiful tile floors. It's not so much the pattern but the fabric she uses. I think you will find something there!!

There is a video you can find on youtube.com (use Egyptian tent maker quilt as a search string) and they show you the process they use to make their quilts. Start with a small piece to get the technique down.

CHeck out this pattern by Anaka's Treasures http://ankastreasures.wordpress.com/...oroccan-tiles/ the version she did with the dark background is stunning, and the curves are applique and not pieced so that would make it tons easier as well !

Here is one that could work for you. It's just a variation on the 10-minute block. I plan to use this to make a Christmas runner with a snowflake in the center of each block. Found a great Bali Batik snowflake material. Here is the link to it.

i took pictures of the tiles in Spain and Portugal because i liked the idea of making them into quilt patterns. Someone beat me to it and there is a book based on the tiles out there. Not sure of the name but i'm sure you can find it using "tile quilts" as the keywords..
