If I’m cutting WOF, I position my Quilters Select ruler and start cutting from the middle of the fabric with a rotary cutter. Cut up, then cut down. I use 5# weights to hold the fabric in place that’s waiting to be cut.

I have both sizes and use them constantly. I have not tried using them on top of a ruler, I always just placed it next to the ruler and then removed the ruler and cut along the slide lock. Its a must have tool

That looks like a fun toy. I will see if they demonstrate them at the Road to CA show in Jan, as they are pricy.
I have also found that doing a light spray on the back of my rulers with 505 Basting spray, they hold perfectly for about 5 cuts.

Back then, it was half the price. I bought both sizes for less than what they are charging for the 24" size now.
I sprayed one of my rulers with basting spray too. I'm not sure yet how much I like the results. It left a sort of hazy residue on the back. But it sure keeps the ruler from sliding around!

Did they change the design? Because this Rule Steady from a google search doesn't look like the slidelock rulers I have. https://sewingbuddies.com.au/rule-steady.html

Look at Prism99s comment #17 here from the year 2015, with links to YouTube videos that show the difference between Slidelock and Rule Steady.
According to this, they are not the same.
Slidelock ya or na?
