Favorite new toy is the Slidelock

This is the first I have heard of this. I checked it out and it is now on my wish list. I have a birthday and Christmas coming up. Thanks for the tip.

I have been using the Slidlock for safety for several years. Like onebyone I had a nasty cut with the rotary cutter and I never want that to happen again. I don't understand why anyone would use a rotary cutter without a safety tool or cut resistant glove. it's not a matter of if but when will an accident happen. I have heard so many guild members say they are very careful when cutting so don't need a safety and have seen most of them with stitches when they do get cut. Some say the Slidelock is too expensive but they paid the ER bill and had the trauma to get through plus lost quilting days. I don't ride in a car without a seat belt on so why on earth would I use a dangerous tool without a safety?

I bought a 24" slide lock several years ago at a quilt show, (before the price got so high), and enjoyed using it.
For about 6 months.
Then, hubby claimed it for himself. He loves using it with one of my 24" rulers that he also claimed, to cut foam board. He's a photographer who uses lots of foam board to mount his photos before framing them.
Truthfully, he uses it more than I ever did.

I always did that too and still had a bad cutting accident. I couldn't believe I cut myself after thinking I was always so careful. Honestly I don't cut anything with a rotary cutter unless I have a safety either the Slidelock, a handle, or a glove.

The quilters slidelock website says it is not to be placed on top of another ruler
