I got the first one but set it aside soon because the short side on the left kept getting caught on seams and I had to lift the presser foot to go over the cross seam.

I used the second one for quite awhile, but eventually asked my husband to remove the guide on the right side. Worked great on 1/4" seams but was difficult to use on anything else. And I hate to change presser feet back and forth.

Just received the 3rd one a couple of weeks ago and absolutely love it.

When I bought my FW it didn't have measure marks on the throat plate. So I purchased a plate with the marks on it on Ebay and use that for the 1/4 in. Works good for me.

Sorry, I've tried all the 1/4 inch feet on different machines and I still rely on the moleskin measured out to a scant 1/4 inch from the needle. I've had trouble with fabric slipping under the edged foot and I found I had to sew slower to contain the scant 1/4 inch. I have Baby Locks, Featherweights, Juki, Janome, Singer 301's and a treadle and will stick with the moleskin. I find I can get a perfect 12 1/2 inch block this way...or any size for that matter. Good luck finding the best foot. A lot of my friends use them and are very happy with them.

I have a teflon foot on mine where both sides of the foot are 1/4 inch

But, did you know whith the foot it has on it, the left hand side of teh foot is 1/4 inch already? so all you need to do if you are peicing is sew from the otherside of the peice of fabric, so the most of you fabric goes under the arm, and the seam is on the left. Clear as mud?

Dave McCallum's site, Featherweight Rx, at www.featherweight221.com or (360) 757-4777 has a few feet and an acrylic guide you can screw down to achieve whatever seam allowance you need.

I got one from my local sewing machine repair shop. It was meant to be for another old sewing machine and I use it more on the fw than I do the other machine, it works great.
