Quote: Six years ago my grandmother passed away and a few weeks after that I asked my aunt (that is who she live with) if she ever got rid of my mamaw's quilting things I wanted them. Well I never did hear anything from her and then the phone rang yesterday and it was my aunt and she ask me if I still wanted my mamaw 's quilting stuff and I say YES. Well she brought some of it over here yesterday and wow did she have a lot. Some of the fabric was yardages and some of it was scraps and a box full of patterns! The patterns are mostly made of cereal boxes and things like that. I can't wait to go through them. I'll have to get tubs for the fabric and then find a place for it!! I am so grateful that I now have something that belong to my mamaw!!
I am just tickled pink for you...YAAAHHOOOO.....
enjoy those cereal box templates...they are very dear! My Granny let me trace those when I was just 5 years old..I remember it like it was yesterday and NOT 45 years ago..hhahahha

How wonderful that you got them. Sounds like you are the only one interested in carrying on the quilting/sewing tradition.

How lucky you are to get your Mamaw's quilting things. I got my Grandmothers treadle machine after my Mom died. I have already given it to my oldest daughter. She doesn't sew but loves the memories and the sense of history.

How wonderful for you! My Grammy was a quilter, too and what I would give to have something of hers.
