I can't believe this. I tore up my house today looking for the missing blocks. I just now found them, in the scrap box right next to my machine!

I had been thinking of making my own design wall but a friend called me last week and told me that ConnectingThreads.com had it on sale for $14.95. Couldn't beat that with a stick. And if you ordered $50 worth of merchandise you got free shipping so I ordered some neutral colored threads in 5000 yard spools.

This design wall is larger than I expected it to be and happy with it.

What is your pattern called for your quilt posted here? I love that it would be a great scrappy quilt with lots of flow. Thanks

When I get to the LQS, I unroll it on a cutting table & pick out my fabric. Get home & just staple it back to the shade. I haven't tried to roll up the shade with everything on it. I'm afraid it might be too much bulk. maybe I'll try that today.
Funny you mention this shade idea...recently saw someone offer this for sale & they rolled it up with pieces intact. Of course you would need to mount it a little further off the wall as the roll will get larger with more fabric "in" the roll.

Love the idea of you rolling it up & taking it with you;)
We have these kinds of wood valances over many of our windows, so I guess I could put one up in any of the bedrooms. I will bet they are mounting them to the sides of the wood valance rather then on the wall directly, as this would give the greater depth needed.

Yes, that is how DH attached mine, on the wood. We knew if we put it on the wall,it would have to go over the woodtrim to roll up. HB put it right on the trim on the top of the door. I like the idea of the shelf hiding it [like in the video]. thanks for that link

Way to go. Another great use for duck tape and a price that can't be beat.
