hi I just done two baby quilts and used fleece for backing and quilted on my home sewing machine it seemed to work fine for me

I made 5 quilts for c
mas last year using fleece as backing and addd no batting. I machine quilted them, just straight lines. It turned out fine...Iam not too savvy at machine quilting yet!!

I'm working on a fleeced back quilt for my daughter for C'mas right now. I use either fleece or flannel backing because I want the quilts I give away to be used... and warm enough to keep away the cold. I find cotton/batting/cotton to give little warmth... :lol:

I love the idea of using fleece on the back of quilts, it sounds so soft and cozy...so NO batting when you use fleece?

Also, if you use cotton fabrics on the front, fleece on the back...what kind of binding do you use?

I used the fabric that I would normally use. The fleece which was a non-pill from Hancocks was a heavier fleece and did not bat. The non-pill fleece from Joann's was much lighter in weight so I did a flannel for a bat here. Just make long stitches and clean out that bobbin area, builds up fast.I attached the binding to the front and pulled it to the back. I always do my bindings with a decorative stitch. I just like it that way and very forgiving.

Cool! Your quilting is very nice, too. I made 4 pinwheel and 9 patch quilts for my grand babies with a fleece back and no batt. I made an extra wide border and wrapped the extra to the back...it worked.

I've backed several small quilts with fleece and tied them all. Sometimes I used a batting, and sometimes I didn't.

My husband just said the same thing for a quilt I am making for my Dad...did you make one? Any problems?
