Thank goodness I have not cut myself but have bumped myself leaving a wound. My error is getting forgetful to close the blade.
Just for my clarification: I absolutely wear disposable gloves, the concern remains.

A year or so ago, I joined those of you who have sliced their fingers using a rotary cutter. I had just purchased a brand new rotary cutter, and the blade was exceptionally sharp. I had a pretty bad cut, but I made some butterfly closures from adhesive tape (until I could get to the drug store) and bandaged my finger. It took several weeks for it to heal, and I definitely try to be much more careful. No more trying to watch TV and cut quilt blocks at the same time! I still have numbness in my index finger on my left hand. Safety First!

I have different types of gloves and wear them maybe 50% of the time. I have gotten little nicks but never anything major. I think part of the problem is when you don't change your blade often enough, you have to push down harder.

I don't always use them, but these are the ones I got -- the F&P are too small and too expensive.
