Grrr. I soaked my quilt, put Oxy clean in and soaked and the border design marks still won't come out. first i did rub with a wet rag, a lot. got most of the marks out but they are still showing.
the border is a dark rose. Fons' and Porters says to rub out with a wet rag. yep. didn't work.
any ideas other than Oxy clean???

marks before rubbing with wet rag

Wow, mine have always come out with water. Could you write to them on their web site for suggestions? Makes me nervous now because I have a dark quilt I am about to quilt!

no hadn't tried to contact them. i'm sure they would say the same thing. rub while wet.
i used the white pencil, not the yellow. i have always had problems using yellow but didn't expect any with white.
sigh.
I just sent them an email anyway.
i also ordered marking pencil remover liquid spray. probably won't help on this though.

I know this is probably is a dumb comment, but was the fabric washed before you used it? If it wasn't, there might be a finish on the fabric (i.e. chemical) that is causing the chalk lines not to release. :? You really should contact them to see what they suggest. It's such a shame.

Oxi Clean works best on organic stains.

I would be careful with Oxi Clean - Everytime I use it - it fades my fabric

You might want to ask your LQS to see if they can suggest something.

ah ha! no, i don't think the fabric was washed. darn!
and no, didn't press the marks.
well i just finished washing it with Tide and more oxy clean.it looks fair. most of the marks are gone but not all. luckily it's a wall hanging for us. i'm not giving it as a gift to anyone. i found the rest of the rose fabric and threw it in the dirty clothes basket for a future washing!!!
