I had someone on this board send me a small lap quilt for my kitty. It was a complete surprise. I could not love it more and so does kitty. I have made a lot of pillow sheets and taught a friend how to make them. I said to her one time, I'd make you a set of pillow sheets but since I taught you that's kind of an oxymoron. She said she would absolutely love to have me make her a set. She said, sure, I can make it, but getting it from you would be extra special and mean a lot to me. So there 'ya go.

Yes, I have given and received quilts from my quilting friendship group and recently a quilt from a guild member, "just because" she wanted to give me something. She is quite talented at her quilt making and long arm quilting, so I am very honored.

We had this discussion a while back and here was the result. I hope more people will join us. There is still time, but I am not sure how much longer you will have.

Quilters are like mechanics, they don't make things for themselves. We're are always quilting for what ever reason. I think that it would be wonderful if someone made a quilt for me.

My sister and BF is a quilter and she and I exchange quilted gifts, fabric, and gift certificates to our favorite lqs so I am lucky I guess.

Interesting - I think you are right. We don't tend to do that, and the real truth is, I'd just love something quilted from others and suspect my quilting friends are much the same. Will have to remedy that pattern. Thanks for bringing it up!

I had to ask my mother to hand quilt a quilt for me because I quilt I never had one done by her. Glad I did now I at least have one that she made and quilted.

None of my oldest friends are quilters. But I made some new friends who are quilters and one of them gave me the prettiest fall pot holder, love it.
