I've seen them on ebay frequently.

yikes! DH gave me a left handed Gingher cutter for Christmas and I've never checked it out. I need to do that!

I just took it out of the box, and the first thing I noticed is that you have to manually retract the blade. I've gotten lazy using the self retracting Olfa. Feels nice in the hand though.

I think you are paying for the name.

Or it could be because it's not a cheap piece of plastic junk.

If it is on sale, I don't think the coupon will be applied. I work as a speech pathologist in the schools so I get the 10% discount. I believe that always is taken off.

Get one and try it. I'm sure you can return it if you don't like the "feel" of it.
Let us know what you think!

I have used both the Olfa and Friskars and couple months ago decided to try the Gingher (bought them on eBay) for pennies on the dollar.

Both my 8 year old GD and I are left handed so I bought some left handed ones along with bunch of blades that go with them.

I prefer the Gingher. It is a better constructed cutter compared to the others. As the saying goes you get what you pay for.

I picked up a right handed one has well since I use both right hand and left hand equally while GD uses only her left hand.

Wow almost $70? I think I got mine online and it was not much more expensive then the Friskars I use around $20 or so.

They are so well made and feel so good to use that they are worth it to me, especially if you get a good deal on them.

I think I am going to check out ebay for one. I have a pair of snips, and my sister got me a pair of the 8" knife edge scissors for by birthday last week and I love them I think I am going to hint to my husband that a seam ripper would be nice for mothers day and order the rotary cutter just because! LOL
