I have Bernina 880 upgraded to to 880 Plus. There is a great difference between it and 700 series. Pinpoint for multi hooping has fantastic accuracy. I use my laptop and Bernina software for creating Embroidery with multiple designs and/or text. Much more versatile than what I have observed doing it all on machine in my opinion. I have taken 1 embroidery class with Claudia Dinelle creating a 52” wall hanging of the nativity. I was completely new to multi-hooping and was very happy using the Jumbo hoop and pinpoint feature. The 880 also has a large throat and I have been very happy with stitch regulator. I also like the Bernina hoops to use when quilting. They are weighted and about 1” thick. I like using them better than my hands. Another feature I have just added are the magnifying lenses. The holder inserts into the left side of the machine. Three magnifying strengths come with the set. Great for SID. And I think they will be great for multi-hooping line up also. I have 9mm wide stitching with included designs as quilting element on narrow borders on wall hangings.

Do you save a significant amount getting embroidery only vs. the similar combo SM?
