Default Great buy on batiks and project

For the first time at the Shipshewana miscellaneous auction 30 boxes of good quilting fabrics were there to be sold. A couple that had been making items to sell decided for health reasons to retire from their business. They had been going to throw the fabric away but the auctioneer who was helping them offered to bring it to the auction.
There were lots of boxes with small prints, reproductions, etc... and one box of batiks. I haven't use batiks much and decided to bid on that box so I could have some to work with without investing tons of money. When I got the bid for $22.50, I picked that box. When I got home and measured the fabric pieces, I was surprised to find I had over 50 yards of good fabric. About half the pieces were 3 or 4 yds each.

I've since made two projects. This quilted piece I used to make this bag was my first project. I've also made a wallhanging and will add that picture when I locate it.

I'm afraid I would have come home with a car load, in fact I did come home with a car and a truck load once LOL still working on putting it all away, over 10 boxes of fabric. its fun going through them. I just LOVE that tote. looks like it would fit a good sized quilt

You did good. That tote is very pretty, and I'm sure the next projects will be lovely too. Wow 50 yds of Batik fabric, lucky you. I'm sooooo jealous.
