Funny you should say this. I just cut up an old pillow case and used it for backing and binding some mug rugs. I even used an old, good quality sheet as a backing for a lap quilt. Because the quality was so good to begin with, it turned out nice.

What about stringing a cord in the hem to make a dirty clothes duffle bag for college kids. I think I'm going to try this for my granddaughter. They could even have several so they could sort their clothes as they go. It could be hung somewhere with the cord.
