I have a machine that I can use with out a foot pedal, from Brother. Although I haven't tried any FMQ on it yet.. but since I want to learn... I may have to put that on my list of things to try when I have the time.

I know exactly what you mean, it took me 4 years to figure out that my big elna runs without the pedal. DUH!!!!! Still can't FM worth a darn though. LOL

I also do FMQ in this matter. I found the faster I go the more even my stitches are. I go full speed ahead!!!

My Janome has that option, but I never thought to use it! Hmmm... might have to experiment with it a little later!

My Janome is older and doesn't have that option but my Brother sewing and embroidery machine does. I will have to give it a try because I sure have problems with FMQ,

My Bernina is about 1 years old. How do I find out if I can do this? What kind of button are we talking about?

My machines that I use for FMQ are all embroidery machines. On them it is the start stop button.

I have a Singer Futura embroidery machine and it has a start button for doing embroidery. I wonder if I can use it and sew without the pedal for regular sewing? That would be awesome!! I will try that today. I would not mind fmq if I could get my stitchs even. I can't get my foot and hand coordinated either.
