Half square triangles

I also save my HST. Now use them in scrappy 6" finished blocks. I use a setting like a sampler to "bring it together". If your HST is not big enough for the size u need try sewing two together of the same fabric to make a bigger triangle. I have made 3 scrappy quilts with them. One was a medallion style that I posted in Elizabrat's Medallion style quilt-along.

The Depression Block I found on Quilters Cache makes a great scrappy. Every square in it is a hst. If you have hst's with dark and light fabrics they will work wonderfully. Here's a pic of some I made recently. It takes (16) 3 1/2 inch unfinished squares to make a 12 inch unfinished block.

I have been saving HST from my quilting projects. I now have large drawer full of odd sized, odd colored HST.
Any thoughts about how to go about using these. After all the work of squaring and sorting and saving, I would hate not to use them for something. I do love scrappy. Thanks for any ideas.......

I just noticed the Depression block, also from Quilter's Cache. That also is a fun one to make. Good luck. I love half square triangles.
