Halloween sewing
I have a Halloween layout I am working on. The shape is rectangle for a chest I have two stripe of different halloween fabric on a orange star fabric. I have cut out cats and pumpkins. the pumpkins I can sew on no problem. The cats are maybe 8 inches tall and 6 wide. The problem is they are so small to sew on (by sewing machine) Thin maybe a better word. The legs, arms, tail etc. are thin maybe a 1/4 inch. I plan on iron on for the cats. ? Idea's for sewing cats on to fabric. Cutting the iron on I hope will be not to hard. Not a great at sewing tiny but I do sew. Thanks! I would put up a photo But I can not get it to work for me.

If you mean the appliques with fusible are thin and tiny, I just match my thread to the narrow strip and do a zig zag down the middle. The edges may fray a but like raw edge applique but the pieces are secure.

Never thought of sewing middle, I will iron on wonder under light. I have never sewn anything that narrow, but will try
with a small zig zag. I hope, I do not have to sew and cut. Someone else said slow your sewing machine down, I know how you sew fast they are right. I want legs arms to lay flat. Thanks I like to have input and learn from others s I go.

If you plan to use batting, I would fuse down and then FMQ a meander stitch that would cross the legs/ tails at least a couple of times. I think this will stand to laundering gently, as you will only display it a brief time once a year.

Be sure to put some stiff paper behind the background fabric before stitching to keep the applique flat while stitching. Then tear the paper away before sandwiching.
