At the shop, we get curtain rods, and shower curtain hanging rings with clips on them. We string about 7 rings onto the rod, then clip the quilt on. It's easy to do, pretty inexpensive and works very well.

My go-to instructions for beautiful hanging quilts from Caryl Bryer Fallert-Gentry:

I buy a decorative curtain rod and the rings with clips and hang my quilts that way.

variation on a good discussion here on ways to hang quilts. one way to get flat rods to hang quilts is to use flat wooden slats from venetian blinds. Often the construction re-sale shops will have them for next to nothing. home decor shops may have them after cutting blinds to fit windows. Paint/spray them with a sealant so that wood and stain chemicals don't seep into the fabric. if quilt is heavy, use two together.

I use the "Hang It, Dang It" rods. Just google it. They come in 3 different sizes and they are telescoping so will fit any size quilt. You only have to put 1 nail in the wall and it's really easy to swap out quilts. You do have to make a sleeve for each quilt, though.

I hate putting nails in the wall...though, I do have several curtain rods I hung for larger quilts..but I discovered Command Velcro strips. I find in humidity after a few mths they unstick from the fabric side but now I use tiny
Applique pins to hold the strips on the fabric side...so no more falling even for bigger quilts...
