I did that with a Thimbleberries BOM once. I wanted to challenge myself to try doing something outside my normal "like" zone.I could never warm up to the fabrics and even today I avoid Thimbleberries stuff. It's not my style.

    Epic , expensive fail .

I DID exactly the same thign...SIL and DTR picke dout special fabrics and a pattern I worked and worked getting it ALMOST together and I couldn't stand it. I finally told them I was gonna tear it apart and would buy them more(their choice) of fabrics and make a different one...it was just thier previous fabrics didn't look good together. So now they get 4 laptops and a new quilt too.

Actually I may make it a front and back and then a separate top...still don't love it though.
When that happens to me, I literally dismantle the kit, put the fabric into my stash, donate the pattern to my local library (mainly so I don't change my mind and try to do it again) and carry on. I find if you really don't like the project, you will never finish it.

Yes. I bought a jelly roll because I loved the fabrics, but when I opened them out I was not so keen. Have finished the top except for the borders, but I am not happy with it and will have to gear myself up to finishing it. I will not enjoy quilting it

Uh,yes.....I'm trying to do a pattern I tried before. Like the results, liked the fabric when I bought it, but no way it'll get finished. Shame on me...once should be enough.

Yep. been there. I usually finish them and then donate them to the nursing home or something like that. It's funny that our "mind's eye" sees things so differently than the reality....

Yes, I have one that fits the 'what was I thinking' bill color-wise. I also don't like the technique. I'm trying to force myself to finish it so I can donate it.
