And no, no one gasps at my area. It's not huge, but I do try to keep it semi tidy between projects.

Me too. LOL I cringe every time I walk through the door. I know I have to clean it up but just motivating myself to start is the problem...besides I would much rather be sewing and I figure eventually I will sew 'the mess' up into quilts. :)

Lots and lots of luck to you!

I have just read through all pages of this thread. It is so heartening to know there are others like me out there. My dear SIL gasped at my housekeeping skills years ago. "Clean enough to be healthy, dirty enough to be happy". Don't get me wrong I admire those who can keep everything neat and tidy and many days wish I were more like that. But I am not. My family and friends love me just the same. And the gasping SIL marvels at what I sew.

Lock the door, stop feeling defensive. You are creating and you have the right to choose how you do it. Besides if you cleaned up and put away everything everyday think of the time you would waste.

If anyone's gasped at my mess, they've done it outside my hearing.

My whole house is a wreck most of the time. Between work, kids and quilting, who's got time to clean???

Mine is in the living room and is the first thing you see as you come in the door. To my way of thinking ... if you are coming to critique my home - stay away cause I always have a mess going while I am sewing and/or embroidering at the same time. No place to hide mine either... oh well - if it's out of site - it's out of mind(LOL)

My DH was trying to show off my work so he gets a pass, but I asked him to please never show my craft room again. I was at a loss for words when I heard the gasp of horror...She does not do crafts, so no messes at her house. I do clean up and put away once I'm done with a project (okay, sometimes I do). I guess the best attitude is if momma's creating the best thing to do is duck to avoid flying fabric.
Dear Lord, it can get bad. I just cleaned yesterday. And to make matters worst, I have prom decorations everywhere too. At least till April 1.
