Have you ever not wanted to cut into fabric?

Yes, all the time, I love my stash fabric so, some more than others and sometimes just get so much pleasure looking at it, but when I do use it in a project, I am so happy with the results. After all, that is why we purchase it!

I have the same problem. For me, it's because I can visualize the finished project in my head. So, there's no need to cut the fabric. If I cut and use the fabric, the finished product might not look as good as what I created in my head!

There is a pattern called Easy Breezy which is great for those fabrics that you don't want to cut. You need 1-3/4 to 2 yds for the center of the quilt, fabric for the first border, then 1/4 yd of 5 or 6 coordinating fabrics for rails, then a final border, if you want one and binding. Square up the center fabric; cut the first border 2-1/2" to 3" wide; cut the coordinating fabrics into several widths (2", 2-1/2", 3", 4") and subcut into rails (I like 6" rails, but you can make them longer or shorter). Sew the rails together to make borders for all 4 sides. Add the final border if you want it. Easy Breezy.

When I find myself with fabric that I just can't cut, I tell myself that I can look at it every day in the quilt. I can cuddle under it, sit on it, etc. That helps give me the courage to cut it.

however, i am very picky about who i might use my favorite fabrics for. lol

It seems that every time I get fabric that is not for a specific project, I have a tendency to let it sit. Too cute to use. This is the expression that my husband has for the dinners I make. (he thinks everything I do is precious. Does your husband keep the grocery list?)
I once had some doggie fabric that I did not use for about 8 months. I think it's that it had little faces and it's hard to cut those. I finally dove in though.
