I am trying out this block with some scrap fabric to see if I could do it.
I have a question.. do you sew down the edge of the fabric in the middle after you rolled and sewed down the edge? or do you just leave it ...

there is a picture of what I am asking... Thank you

I think it is a matter of preference. Your block sure is pretty.

you can do either. if it is going to a little kid I would sew it double but that is because I have pickers that would pick at it till it was taken apart.

I have left it but sewing it down creates another decorative element ;)

I don't think you sew it down.

I made one for my granddaughter and I sewed both sides down. I didn't want to pull on the threads I had sewn to make it look like a cathedral window and come undone. I think it's your choice. The more it's used, the more need to make sure that it doesn't come undone. Cheryl

It's entirely up to you. I only did one line of stitching. You also don't HAVE to roll the edges in, you can leave them straight.

I sew down the edge - thought it might be easy for a finger to get caught on it if it weren't tacked down. Love how you fit the inside block so perfectly! Great job.

WOOHOO...Thank you everyone for your help...

This is going to be a kids quilt so I guess I better sew it down, don't want it to fall apart...
This is my first block and it is a fun block to make.

Thanks again all :D
