I am at the end of putting my quilt together. I have to sew on the binding, need to know what stitch to use to finish it. This will be my first time for doing it by machine, I've always done it by hand, so I'm not so sure which stitch to use.

Thanks
Sharon

I have used a applique stitch around the edge just like when doing applique work.
Straight stitches, and more open decorative stitches.

Maybe you can make up a little quilt sandwich and practice a few different stitches?
For all of the stitches, I lengthened them a bit because I liked the look better :D:D:D

I have heard others recommend a serpentine stitch. I like to play with the fancy ones on my machine sometimes so I stitch them out on practice pieces first to play with the length/width settings and then go for it. I have leaves, rabbits, flowers, and I don't remember what all so I just pick one and use it to stitch the front binding down.
