The Janome manual for the 7330 does not say anything about tension for walking foot. If it did I would not be asking, and I have tried making samples. I don't do FMQ yet...I am trying to do stitch in the ditch with the walking foot.

If I'm sew through several layers with the walking foot I adust the presser foot pressure but not the tension. For FMQ I sometimes have to loosen the top tension a little. For FMQ you have to do what works for you and your machine.

Thanks everyone for the responses on the use of a walking foot
I was hoping for a response from someone with a Janome 7330 Magnolia. I do not use the walking foot for FMQ. I use it for stitch in the ditch. I have changed my bobbins and bought some for the machine that are specific to this model. I had some plastic bobbins that looked so similiar. I think the only difference from looking closely was they were a trifle smaller and the bevel on the top of the bobbin was slightly different. It seems to help with regular stitching and my quarter inch foot. I have not tried it yet with the walking foot. What happens when I use the walking foot for straight stitching on my quilts is that the understitch is slightly distorted. I have played around with the tension and will have to keep at it. Thanks again ladies for your responses!
