I agree; pick a darker border.

me? I like the bold border... the green inner border defines the turkey... do what pleases your eye!!! (Contrary to popular opinion, the Quilt Police are only imaginary lol)

When I first looked at the quilt, I didn't even notice it was a turkey. My eyes were drawn to the border. IMO I would use a darker border, like the maroon you have in the turkey or make the border you have now smaller. It's such a cute quilt, never saw that pattern before. But to me, the border draws your eyes to it right away.

I like it and think after you put the top and bottom borders on, it will be fine.

Darker outside...something close to the reddish color that's in the quilt.

I think your quilt looks great. The green frames it nicely and the leaves are not over powering. Quilt it, bind it and enjoy it.

Perhaps it is just the power of suggestion, but all I can look at is the border. Your turkey is wonderful and deserves to be the center of attention. Personally I would use a rust or brown outer border - on all four sides. But as others have said, it is your piece and you need to make it something you will be happy with.

Love the pattern, and I think the border is perfect for the colors you have in the piece.

I would use a darker color for the outer border. The yellow pulls the eye away from the center. JMHO.
