It goes like this... A friend of mine at work needs hummingbird fabric. Her mother wants humming birds fabric as curtains. As she will not be around very much longer. So I visited 3 LQS with no luck. I then (light bulb moment) thought I couild embroidery it on, so I got a Dakota disk with hummingbirds on it. Attempted several times to down load to floppy. Got that part right, I think, but my Husky D1 says no file's found or something like that. Called support number for Dakota and that helped very little, D1 said same thing again. I tried other floppies in the D1 and they all show me a file. Another light bulb moment accured, when I thought of you alll. Any help is appreciated. No, buying the fabric is out at this point, I think. Send me link if you find that also. Got to go to work 3-11 at the nursing home.

Are the files you are trying to download to the floppy too big ? When the floppy is in the computer does it show any files ?

Was it a new floppy ? Sometimes if they are not new you need to reformat them and then download to them ... Just thinking of things I have tried before... floppies get funky from computer-to-computer

Can the sewing machine itself format the disk? If it can, use it to format the disk. If not, you're only solution is to keep trying different floppies until you find one the D1 likes. Floppy disk quality got worse & worse in the late 90's. I had to dig through my husband's old stuff to find older disks from the 80's to make boot disks for some computers we used to support. I've had to format disks with certain brands of floppy drives for certain brands to read. Also try blowing the dust out of your computer & D1. Sometimes a little bit of fuzz can cause major problems.

DH who handles the computer problems will be away this weekend. He will be doing a living history (civil war era) down around Wash, DC. When he gets back, I will have a honey do list awaiting him. Thank you all for all your suggestions and the ones after this.
