whats your decor where you sew
What color stands out the best
actually what normally is your liking white or black
The white is a beautiful machine but as ladies are saying here the black one is more functional.
Hey and price difference Do you really want to cost the person buying this for you 200 more dollars just to have a pretty or functional
Up to you

Since they were both made in Singer's early days, either one. I like black myself. Singer has been bought out several years ago and it's not like it used to be, stay away from those.

I have both a white and a black, I would go for the black, the black one is slightly better in performance than the white.

The white one is more rare.

The black one is a real beauty and has the original key, which I understand is rare. I went and looked at it and ended up bidding on another black one...didn't want to step in on yours..:) I guess I didn't know EBAY had them at, what I think, is a reasonable price. I may finally get one also. My brother just paid me back a loan so, does that justify it??? Now, I'm all excited!!!!

I'm partial to black. The decals show up so nicely. That price is good if it's in good condition. You don't find them much cheaper unless they need work.
