Here's one of the two quilts I mentioned above. The eggplant/purple and pink is chenille robe fabric, the aqua and pink Hannah Montana is commercial cotton, and the back and binding is hot pink swimsuit material. It was my first longarm quilted quilt, so I used a simple large meandering pantograph for the top stitching.

Pink is not a de facto color within the spectrum. Some prefer light pastels (as a group) or lean more towards a specific hue. Pink imparts a measure of juvenilia to the decor and suggests a girlish spirit. Lavender is commonplace in French inspired color schemes and would evoke a relaxed country house look when carried to completion. Pale versions of mint green, baby blue, and yellow are also used.
