Question: What is the best way to choose colors or patterns when desiding on a quilt? Do you use a color wheel and where can you find one?

If I want to hire the services of a longram quilter, what questions should I ask?
What preparations should I make to take my quilt to a long arm quilter?

Why do I need to use a 1/4 inch seam allowance. Is it really important?

How should I launder my finished quilt? what are the rules?

Do I rally need to put a label on my quilt? Why?

Instructions for quilt bindings are usually for the standard narrow binding (cut 2-1/12 inch strips, fold, press, sew to front w/ 1/4" seam, turn, hand sew, etc.).

What is the best way to do a wide binding? How do I figure out the math....where to place on my quilt and how to miter the corners?

Do I have to use bias binding for rectangular quilts?

My backing fabric is only 45" wide, so how can I best piece it for a large top?

My backing is too small and I don't have any more left. How can make my backing large enough?

Why do I need to cut my backing and batting larger than the top, and how much larger is large enough?

Do I have to prewash my fabric?
